IAJ! FAQ

What/Who is I Am Janet! ?
I Am Janet! started out as a small record label in 2002 that was created for the sole purpose of releasing the music of The Dumb and Ugly Club. It has now expanded to include the art, music, writing and film of a tight-knit group of creative individuals producing unique work of quality.

Where is IAJ! based?
IAJ! isn't exactly "based" anywhere, although we are extremely interested in maintaining a sense of locality and stressing the importance of supporting the local/indie artist. As of right now, there are IAJ operatives in Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Chicago, New Jersey and Seattle who are all very active in their local scenes.

What has IAJ! released?
IAJ! has released a number of different materials.
Here is the release list for IAJ! Records.
IAJ! also releases zines and films

How can I get an IAJ! artist to play my show/participate in my event?
You can contact the artist using the links and the left. Alternatively you can email iamjanetrecords@gmail.com.

How can I get involved in IAJ!?
We're just starting out, so we don't have a ton of resources and probably won't be taking on many new participants at this juncture. However, you are free to send an email to iamjanetrecords@gmail.com or a send a demo to IAJ c.o Pensiero//602 Catherine St. #2//Ann Arbor, MI//48104

Where else can I find/listen to IAJ! artists?
You can listen to IAJ! artists on LastFM, Virb and on Myspace (unfortunately, we are resigned to this crappy networking site's extreme popularity).

I see jokers on here who don't have bios or fancy little pictures. What's up with them?
The bios and avatars represent the original members of IAJ! when this site was launched in the summer months of 2006. We keep adding new faces we love all the time. And we do it for you.

When will IAJ! rise to take over the world?
Only you can help IAJ! rise to take over the world. Send us all your love so we can keep on keepin' on. Send us all your numbers so we can phone ya. Send us mixtapes. Send us ice cream novelties. Or, better, pray for zombie apocolapyse.

And what of zombie apocolapyse? Is there at least a firm date on that?
Only Katy Shay knows. Too bad she never checks her email.
